FAQ
What is Asthma?
Asthma is a common disease in which the airways in the lung become inflamed, excess airway mucus is produced, and airways narrow when muscles within the airway walls contract.

The AIR2 Trial is no longer recruiting patients.

A new path may be opening for asthma sufferers.

ASTHMA INTERVENTION RESEARCH 2 TRIAL

The AIR2 Trial is a research study of an investigational outpatient procedure aimed at evaluating its safety and efficacy in patients with severe asthma. The procedure is called Bronchial Thermoplasty and uses thermal energy to reduce the airway smooth muscle in the lung in hopes of reducing the airways ability to constrict. Less constriction in the airways may result in reducing the severity and frequency of asthma symptoms.
